When we call ourselves
RUTTURA
& SONS,
our family name, we have a lot to live
up to. Over the years, four generations
of fathers, sons and daughters have built
our business, and our name has become
synonymous with quality work, competitive
pricing, and responsible service.
At
RUTTURA
& SONS, we blend
experience and state-of-the-art technology
with good, old-fashioned service, a winning
combination in the construction business.
For us, every project is unique, and every
client is special. Our recognition of
our clients' needs coupled with our service
orientation has encouraged us to continually
expand our excavation and site work capabilities.
This combined functionality eliminates
a client from having to take on the role
of referee when dealing with separate
contractors and site excavators.
We
perform work in:
-
Demolition
- Excavation
- Storm
Drainage
- Sanitary
Systems
- Water
Services
- All
Phases of Cast-in-Place Concrete
Recently,
another aspect of our work has brought
us into the area of fulfilling
architectural concrete and super-structure
concrete projects. In addition, we serve
as an equitable estimating and engineering
resource to our clients.
New
York Construction News named RUTTURA
& SONS
#1 among concrete companies
in New York City and Long Island. And
in 1999, ENR ranked Ruttura #19 out of
ALL concrete contractors in the US. RUTTURA
& SONS
is proud to consistently make the list
of Top 600 Specialty Contractor, making
the top-half-cut this year at #182. In
addition, in 1997 and 1999 KPMG Peat Marwick
and Hofstra University identified RUTTURA
& SONS
as one of the fastest growing private
companies on Long Island.
1918
Dominic
Ruttura established RUTTURA
& SONS CONSTRUCTION CO.
as a sidewalk and curb
contractor in the village of Freeport.
Ruttura's truly "founding father" had
a simple and time-tested philosophy: an
honest price for an honest day's work.
His promise was as good as his work; his
work as good as his promise. And the same
fundamental commitments made so many years
ago continue to be the cornerstone of
the company's success today.
1940 The
second generation of Rutturas, Salvatore
Ruttura, expanded the business into the
residential foundation market. During
this time, RUTTURA
& SONS
also became the first firm on Long Island
to implement the use of sectional forms
to create many foundations from the same
forms. The company extended its operations
and moved into the commercial construction
field in the 1950's.
1971
D. Thomas and Peter Ruttura,
brothers who represent the third generation,
entered into managing the company and
began to take on larger projects. By combining
state-of-the-art equipment and technology
with responsiveness and reliability,the
company has flourished and matured under
the brothers' forward-looking leadership.

1993 The
fourth generation followed the RUTTURA
& SONS
tradition by becoming part of the company
and expanding the legacy through the 21st
century. They
are already meeting the challenge of sustaining
the craftsmanship of the past, meeting
the demands of the present, and anticipating
the needs of the future.
.
2000 RUTTURA
& SONS
continues to live up to the high standards
set by Dominic Ruttura over 80 years ago.
The year 2000 has brought the first Ruttura
daughter into its management team. The
company's success reflects the years of
experience and service that have made
the company one of the largest concrete
and excavation contractors in the greater
New York area
